Keith Allen is a Welsh actor, comedian, singer, writer, director, producer and television presenter. Allen has presented television shows, participated in movies, and made appearances in pantomimes. Allen performed as a stand-up comedian and vocalist, opening for punk bands like The Clash, after holding several jobs during the 1970s, including one as a stagehand, from which he was fired for joining Max Bygraves’ chorus line on stage naked.
After becoming one of the Comedy Store’s breakthrough performers in 1979, Allen starred in several movies in the Channel 4 series The Comic Strip Presents… (1983-1993). The Bullshitters: Roll Out The Gunbarrel, a parody of The Professionals, and The Yob, a parody of The Fly that he co-wrote, are two notable episodes that feature Allen. In the “Interesting” episode of The Young Ones, Allen costarred with other Comic Strip alumni as Pestilence. Allen has acted in both comedic and straight roles. He starred in the Comic Strip movie The Supergrass in 1985.
