Carter Evans is an American journalist who has been a CBS News Los Angeles-based correspondent for CBS News since February 2013, reporting across all of the network’s platforms. Having covered significant national and international topics for almost 20 years, he joined CBS News. Evans’ footage of the police firefight with suspected murderer and former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner in February 2013 garnered national attention. Following a fierce manhunt in Big Bear, California, he was the sole reporter there when officials closed in on Dorner. Evans most recently worked as a freelance reporter for CBS News.
