Andy Roddick is an American former professional tennis player. He was ranked as the world No. 1 in men’s singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals for 13 weeks, including as the year-end No. 1 in 2003. He joined ESPN as an analyst, beginning with The Championships, Wimbledon 2026.
In addition to leading the United States to the 2007 Davis Cup championship, Roddick won 32 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including a major at the 2003 US Open and five Masters competitions. In four additional major tournaments, including the US Open in 2006 and Wimbledon in 2004, 2005, and 2009, he finished second, losing to rival Roger Federer.
For nine years in a row (2002–2010), Roddick was ranked in the year-end top 10; in 2003, he achieved the top spot. After the 2012 US Open, Roddick retired from tennis to focus on his work at the Andy Roddick Foundation. In retirement, Roddick played for the Austin Aces in World Team Tennis in 2015.
