Ron Slay is an African-American former professional basketball player. He was the Southeastern Conference player of the year and an All-American as a senior at Tennessee. Slay averaged 9.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game as a freshman in 1999–2000, helping the Volunteers win the SEC and go 26–7. Slay and the Vols advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1981 in the 2000 NCAA Tournament. Slay increased his statistics to 12.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game the following season. He received the titles of team MVP and third-team All-Conference.
