Robert Costa is an American journalist working as a national correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning and the chief Washington analyst for CBS News. Before joining CBS in 2022, Costa was a longtime national political reporter for The Washington Post. In the past, he served as the moderator and managing editor of Washington Week on PBS and as a political analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. The conservative journal National Review hired him as a reporter in 2010. He was elevated to National Review’s Washington editor in December 2012. Costa contributed to MSNBC, CNBC, and The Kudlow Report while working at National Review.
Costa received widespread recognition for his coverage of the Republican Party in Congress during the 2013 federal government shutdown in the United States.
