Serena Altschul is an American broadcast journalist, currently working as a contributor for CBS Sunday Morning. Altschul previously worked as a CNN journalist in New York from 2002 to 2003. In November of last year, she produced and hosted a one-hour “CNN Presents” special about PCP’s comeback. She also participated in “NewsNight With Aaron Brown.”  She spent two years working as an anchor and reporter for program One News, a program that was broadcast in high schools across the country. She was hired by MTV in 1987, and she began working for MTV News in January 1996.

She wrote a piece for the CBS News magazine “48 Hours” in December 2001 about the growing overuse and misuse of OxyContin. Before that, Altschul worked as a reporter for Channel One News, which is broadcast in high schools across the country. During her time in college, she also created “The Last Party,” a documentary about the 1992 presidential election.
