Zain Asher is a British news anchor at CNN International, based in New York City. She co-anchors the network’s primetime, global news show One World with Zain and Bianna, airing weekdays at noon ET with Bianna Golodryga. After meeting a CNN executive in 2012, Asher was asked to do a screen test in the company’s New York headquarters. Before becoming an anchor at CNN International, which is headquartered in Atlanta, she was initially employed as a business correspondent. She covered the hundreds of Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in 2014 while reporting from Abuja, Nigeria.
